Just a short one here!
Josiah had a great day again in the TCU. For the second day in a row, unfortunately, he began his day with a dying spell. We're not really sure why he went into this one (much like the last). It wasn't related to suctioning, so either he was in pain or upset or scared about something. Anyways, his day was much better after he got past that!
Oh, and Josiah may have pulled out his G-Tube last night. Let's rephrase that: his G-Tube came out and we don't know why! He might have tugged at it, but it's also very likely that the balloon was deflated on the inside so that it just slide out. Anyways, he had a great night sleep because the nurse slipped him some tylenol and he's got a temporary cathedar in his G-Tube site for the mean time. We hope that he can receive a button G-Tube on Monday (smaller and less invasive!)
Mike & Shawna and their two children Cheyanne and Emersen (my bro and his fam) spent the day with us today in the TCU. It was SO AMAZING to watch Cheyanne interact with Josiah. She was really fixated on his trach for a while and she helped Marie suction Josiah by holding in his soother. It was really good and important for us because we were able to learn how children will respond to Josiah's trach and what we can do in those moments.
Josiah had a really good walk outside today. He's getting better at handling sunlight and he was completely fascinated by the trees. He did such a good job outside (no episodes or need for oxygen) and it was really special for us to be out with Mike and Shawna because it felt like it was like a day at the park with the kids.
Anyways, Marie and I will probably be heading out in a bit to watch a movie. Josiah's asleep and we have a good nurse on tonight (she's already had him three times and is a Josiah pro!) so we feel confident enough to take some time away. Thanks to Rob D. for dropping by today, and to Mike, Jen & Caleb P. who dropped by earlier in the week.
Thanks for all the love.

Hey Andrew I was wondering if you have heard of the "baby language"? Aunt Pauline sent me a dvd about it and I find it so fascinating. I just thought it may help you and Marie with KNOWING what Josiah wants or needs at any given moment...just a thought, that's all! And it was so nice to read that Josiah is enjoying the outdoors. I hope you two enjoyed your movie too!!!
i saw shawna's pictures of you guys in the park.. you all looked so cute together.. it is sweet that you got to do that..

I saw that DVD a while back too on a special on T.V. and it was truly very fascinating. Good Stuff!
