Hello there
This one is going to be a short since I'm heading outside to play some road hockey pretty soon (ahhh, the tough life of a youth pastor!) Anyways, I talked to Marie at noon and it seems that Josiah is having a very good day! He is resting well and seems to be getting some deep sleep since he's sleeping even when he's in need of a suction. This is very good and comforting news. Also, even though his iron is still low, Josiah's RBC (red blood cell) count is good so at this point he won't be needing a blood transfusion! Praise God! Marie and the nurses have also noticed that Josiah is gaining his colour back a lot quicker after his fussy moments (they have been less intense over the last 24 hours - good sign!) which is a solid indicator that his iron is picking up. Marie was able to hold him for a while yesterday and he spend a lot of that time awake with his eyes open! Apparently he tried to grab at his breathing tube a couple of times (don't blame him) which I guess is a downside to his alertness, but hey we just love the guy!!
We are going to be meeting with the 'trache' nurse tomorrow around 1:30 PM so you can pray for that time together. I'll be heading back into Van late tonight after road hockey a few other things in the office.
Thanks for all your prayer support! We love you guys.
