Tuesday Morning - A Josiah Update

Josiah is very sick.

This morning Josiah has been paralyzed by staff so that they can put in a 'pick line' (a more permanent iv) and change his trach to a 'cuffed-trach' (sealed at the top so that air doesn't escape out of his mouth). We haven't seen Josiah yet this morning because they have asked for us to wait until this procedure is over.

Josiah's lungs filled up with fluid very badly Sunday night to the point where he has no oxygen reserve and needs to be on a ventilator. The doctors aren't sure why: it could be the result of his 'x-factor' (that thing they are trying to figure out which is causing him to be edemic) or it could because he has an infection or something, but all the tests and bloodwork right now came back negative (ie. there's nothing in his blood to say that he is sick). Josiah has been having many very near-fatal dying spells over the last couple of days and was sedated for all of yesterday.

Please pray for his life.
