Monday Afternoon - A Josiah Update

Hi Folks

Josiah finally had a good day. All in all, this month has been absolutely brutal: brutal new develops, brutal the way Josiah was responding and handling things day in and out. While Josiah started yesterday with a spell (and needed to be chloralled), when he woke up he did all right for the rest of the day. He had a very good night (woke up and WASN'T upset, first time that's happened in a very long time) and this morning he had amazing awake time: smiles, great interaction/play time with mommy, and even had enough energy to play with his physiotherapist! We are SO THANKFUL.

Marie says this is the first time in 3 weeks that Josiah has been able to be himself, and we so badly want this to continue. Josiah has some strength back, and when he cried he didn't need our intervention to recover because his oxygen reserves are building up (even though he is still on oxygen support, this is a big improvement over the last few weeks).

So thanks for your prayers, especially to our church family who prayed for Josiah last night. God listens. Josiah will be getting a little more food in his daily routine, and we are hoping that this well satisfy him and answer some of his upset moments. And I believe the cardiology doctors are meaning to get together again this week to re-assess what to do about Josiah's heart.

Thanks to Mike & Shawna H. who took us out on Saturday to see the Lions whoop the Stamps. Thanks to Marie's bro (Wesley) for coming out to see us last week, as well as Leanne K. and Cindy & Kelly S.

In God's Grace.
- Andrew, Marie & Josiah

Reading your post today reminds me of that song- Wake me up when September ends.
Glad it is over and Josiah had a good day today. Can't wait to see him-
take care!

thank you so much for posting on our blog. There are some similarities between our situations, and we have been much encouraged seeing your strength and faith through your journey. May God grant us both grace as we care for our children.

You all are in our prayers--
Emily
