Tuesday Afternoon - A Josiah Update

Marie's got some cuddle time with Josiah right now and I had to step out to find some food (casserole from Marie's mom!), so I figured I might as well put down some words while I'm in the lounge.

Josiah is still pretty stable, though Marie is concerned about the fact he seems to fall into consistent frustration episodes and doesn't get the long deep rest he needs. Josiah also is d-sating more than usual (review: d-sating is slang for 'desaturating', when the percentage of oxygen in the blood is less than optimal) which has the nurses a little concerned too. The doctors do feel comfortable in putting him back on the respirator on Wednesday if he doesn't take well to breathing on his own after his 'bronch' scope. We of course, just want what is best for him (whatever God wills!) and of course we really really want him to take the big step and be able to breathe on his own, but most important is that we want him to out of any distress and discomfort.

So, please continue to pray for our boy and the doctors as they prepare for tomorrow's bronch scope and extubation; Josiah will be in the OR either later in the morning or early in the afternoon. Thankfully his secretions continue to be low - Praise God! - but we are also praying that his sats remain stable and don't dip anymore.

Random lyric I'm clinging to: Don't worry. The worst won't be the best of us. (And in the spirit of Alex Trebek, "Contestants, good luck.") :D

Loving God's love.
- Andrew, Marie & Josiah

UPDATE: Tsk tsk. I just noticed I misquoted that lyric. Actual lyric: "Don't worry. The worst won't get the best of us." My Bad.
