Wednesday Night - A Josiah Update

Hi Guys 'n Gals

Josiah is scheduled to go in for his heart cath this Friday at 11 AM. Obviously the doctors have carefully weighed the risks of this procedure and have taken into consideration the uniqueness of Josiah's body and the stress his heart is under. The cardiologists want to make certain they haven't missed anything about Josiah's heart and how it might relate to his edema (puffiness). We know that there is a lot of inherit danger with this exam ('invasive' doesn't even begin to describe the process a camera traveling through your artery from your leg into your heart!), but we trust our doctor staff and we trust our God. We know that God loves Josiah, that boy has been an incredible joy in our lives, and that God will keep Josiah's best interests always in his sights.

Today Josiah was given another half dose of 'vitamin m' to deal with his ongoing edema. Already by the end of the night he was looking better! Josiah has been enjoying having his grandparents around (Marie's folks) and continues to revel in life (eating, trying to talk, and practicing his sitting up!) He is also on lower PEEP and was able to sustain himself on room air (21% oxygen) while awake for the first time in months. Also, more doctors (consults) have been pulled into Josiah's life as the staff continue in their attempt to comprehend our incredible kid. And the saga keeps going ...

I'll give update after Josiah's heart cath, but it may only be much later into the evening since computer time is hard to come by at the hospital. Thanks for the on-going thoughts, prayers, and encouragement.

Toodles.
-Andrew, Marie & Josiah

We will be praying as usual and especially on Friday during the heart cath. I'm so happy and thankful for the incredible joy you have had thus far from your precious son. I can feel your love for him in the words that you write Andrew. Josiah is a blessed little man that he has you and Marie as his earthly parents.

God be with you during this very difficult time.

Love Sue

Andrew & Marie,

From first hand experience with our little Emily, we can say you have top-notch cardiologists looking after Josiah. We also know the intense emotion around having people work on your little angel's heart. We will be sending our positive energy and prayers to the three of you and the cardiology staff tomorrow during his procedure. Sending you our love.

Love Erin, Tim & Emily :)

Heavenly Father, we thank you for all that we have and we know that you are so gracious. Today we lift up Josiah, his doctors, and his family as they face Josiah's procedure. Let them know that you are with them every step of the way, guiding the doctor's hands as only you can guide. Give the doctors the knowledge and understanding they need at this time. Give Josiah's parents comfort, patience, hope and peace as they deal with this situation. Give Josiah your gentle hugs and allow him live through yet another procedure on his body. Josiah has been such an inspiration to many, and a joy to his family. Thank you for your gift of Josiah in our lives. We know that you will take care of him as he is your own. In His holy and most precious name, Amen.

Dear Andrew, Marie, and Josiah.
We think of you often, and especially today as you await the results of the surgery. Jared has probably watched the video of Josiah at least 100 times and always asks how he is doing. So from the mouth of my little man to God's ears...
"Josiah better soon, okay?" We couldn't say it any better than that.
