Monday Afternoon - A Josiah Update

Thanks for all the love, encouragement and prayers.

Things are moving: Josiah's sodium and potassium levels are managable - WooHoo! Considering he really bottom out the last time he had 'vitamin m' this is encouraging and an answer to prayer.

Josiah is prepped for a CT Scan (it will begin around 3 PM today). It's a precursor to further potential tests that could be run this week based on what the doctors see. Basically they'll take a big 3D-image of Josiah's torso and try to see where these extra vessels are going (he had scan like this back in July). Over the next couple of days if the doctors determine that what Josiah has is treatable, he will be going in for surgery either this Friday or Monday. If he isn't treatable, obviously we're facing a new kind of journey with our son.

Thanks for the prayers, it's mind boggling to think how our doctor was able to get things to move so fast - when I asked him how many people he had to bribe, he replied "Only two". :) To the credit of the team, the doctors who do the heart cath (run camera through the ateries) were gone for two weeks so that's in part why Josiah's treatment has been delayed. God is good.

Obviously we don't want Josiah to die, and this is a big week - maybe the big week - for answers. We may know if a few days what the future holds for Josiah. God is our source of strength and hope - and your prayers partner us.

We pray for Josiah's safety through the next few days of tests, we pray for the doctors as they seek to determine what is going on and as they plan a response, and we pray that God draws glory to himself.

God's
- Andrew, Marie, and Josiah

Thanks for the update. We will all continue to pray for the specific needs of this week.

We don't want Josiah to die either but we know that Gods plans are bigger than ours and he knows what is best for each and everyone of us including the two of you and also little Josiah. He sees the big picture while we tend to see only what is front of us.

We must always, all of us, remember that our children ultilmatley belong to our Great God and He only lends them to us as long as He sees fit.

I will continue to hold all threee of you up in prayer and pray that God will give you the peace that only He can give.

Love Sue

I became aware of your blog a while ago, and you have been in my prayers already. I just wanted to let you know that I will pray specifically for you guys for continued grace and strength and peace this week as Josiah undergoes all these tests - and for wisdom for the doctors!
