Saturday Afternoon - A Josiah Update

This one will be just a short update.

Josiah had a pretty good night last night. Marie slept in the hospital beside him so that she could be there if he got into any episodes. He had two really minor moments where he needed oxygen, so she is feeling very encouraged and is definitely in better spirits today. Josiah will be hopefully having a swallow study next week to see exactly what is causing the pulse in his trachea (the doctors feel it is an artery that is crossing over his trachea). He will also be given another MRI since one hasn't been does for a few months.

I'm nervous, but really I shouldn't be. It's not what we see on the screen that matters, but it's how Josiah responds and behaves each day. It will be interesting to know what will happen if steps are taken to correct the artery by Josiah's trachea. And I'm curious to see how the doctors will interpret this MRI.

Oh, I don't think I mentioned it last time I wrote but Josiah apparently has something like folds in his ears which makes it next to impossible to get a decent size ear scope in there to look around. We never have been told that before, so we thought that was pretty funny. There's obviously nothing wrong with his hearing (he responds great to noise), but it's just one of the many quirks that make up our son.

That's it from our end. Hope you all enjoyed the new pics. As far as VBS goes, I'm keeping my head mostly above water :)

In God's Love.

It looks as though Josiah is growing quite nicely, that's awesome! And it's so nice he could get outdoors a lot more now...I pray the MRI goes great!

Hi Andrew, Marie & Josiah ~

We are on holidays in Ontario and I just checked in after almost 2 weeks. The photos are great! You have been in my thoughts and prayers as we have travelled many kilometres. There is a lot of time to pray!

Just want you to know that we are still thinking of you and praying for God's continual touch on each of your lives.

Love,

Bev Johnston
