Wednesday Afternoon - A Josiah Update

I haven't talked to Marie yet today so I don't have for you the latest on Josiah, but I did want to pass a prayer request along. We are looking and praying for a primary nurse for Josiah. For a couple of days Marie has been asking around to see if there is someone who would want to be Josiah's primary nurse and so far she has struck out with the three nurses she has approached. A primary nurse for Josiah would be so awesome: he would get more consistent care, nurses wouldn't always have to be re-trained for Josiah, the nurse would know Josiah's habits, likes, and dislikes, and Marie would be a whole lot more at ease and probably would be more involved in the care-giving process.

Anyways, it's not easy being a primary nurse. Most nurses decline because it is too hard on them emotionally (in fact, two of the nurses that said no to Marie had to decline because they had just finished being primary nurses and were having a hard time detaching and moving on from their babies). But we are still hoping and praying that God will line up a nurse that would be just great for Josiah and be able to care for him. So if you could pray with us in this regard that would be greatly appreciated! Right now Josiah gets whatever nurse is assigned to his crib, and it usually isn't the same nurse twice which means he gets treated a little differently everyday and Marie has to inform the nurses when are doing things not quite right or need a little primer on our guy.

So thanks for praying! I'll hopefully post something later in the evening, but if I'm driving and arrive in Vancouver late you'll have to wait until tomorrow morning :)

In God's Love.
- Andrew, Marie & Josiah
